This week we are joined by David Johnson from MaxBlackPhotos.
David is a Manchester based photographer specialising in ‘bringing out the extraordinary in the ordinary’. His work is an examination of the world around us and in particular the urban landscape of the North West of England.
One of David’s passions is monochrome. A common complaint long time photographers have had since the switch to digital is that it’s difficult or impossible for them to achieve the same quality of work as they could in film. However that has not stopped David. David is an expert in Photoshop and Lightroom and uses these tools to create stunning monochrome images.
David’s talk ‘The Art and Thinking of Black and White’ is an examination of the tools, his love of monochrome and his often breathtaking work.
David also produces a regular series of video tutorials detailing his techniques and showing you how to get the very best from Photoshop and Lightroom.
