On Monday evening we were entertained by Society members, Mark and Fraser.
Through his engineering background and family history Mark has developed a passionate interest and an encyclopaedic knowledge of military aircraft. Mark shared his impressive portfolio of aircraft images with members, providing a thoughtful and informative commentary and practical advice on the camera craft he has acquired over time and now applies to aircraft photography.
Fraser introduced us to the personal considerations driving his interest in photography. He shared with members a learning process, involving an enviable amount of international travel, modest photographic successes and hard learned failures, and a portfolio that traces his development as a photographer and now features highly competent, and hugely impressive landscape images.
These shared and quite different photographic journeys make a huge contribution to the life of the Society and its desire to inspire ‘beginner’ members and help them to experience the joy of making pictures.
