Competition 2: Open Digital

This week we have the results from our second members’ competition of the season.

Our judge this evening will be Professor Terry Hewitt. Terry has spent the last week or so with our work and will visit to discuss our entities and award points which will go towards our annual prize giving.

This was one of our open competitions and entries can be of any topic the photographer chooses.

We hold a number of members’ competitions throughout the year. These competitions are an excellent way to focus our efforts, get a little feedback about our work and improve our photography.

Competition 1 – Open Print

This week is the first competition of the year, however it’s a little different from our usual competitions so take note of the following details…

Entries for this competition must be printed and brought along with you on the night. Rather than a visiting judge we’ll have Society President Colin Yates on hand to bring his judgment and commentary on a selection of your prints.

We hold a number of members’ competitions throughout the year. These competitions are fun way to focus our efforts, get a little feedback about our work and improve our photography.

John Leech – ‘Changing Moods – Morecambe Bay, Lake District, Venice and Vienna’

John lives on the edge of Morecambe Bay, where he runs a graphic design and photographic business. John will share with us his passion for fine art photography in images selected from his personal work. Inspiration, perhaps, for those members wrestling with the President’s Challenge for 2016/17.

View a preview of John’s work over on his website.
