18 September 2017 - Welcome to the Year Ahead
An illustrated tour through the year’s programme of meetings, an introduction to the competition process, presentations on; our regenerated website; our Facebook following; and the preparation of entries for competition 3, ‘A Group of Three’.
25 September 2017 - Club Night
An opportunity to ‘Pick and Mix’ from; desktop photography with bath bombs, splashing fruit and smoke trails; the print mounting process; print sizing; and how the SLR works, its settings and its use with filters and flash. Bring your camera and flash.
2 October 2017 - Club NightMembers will assess and select the images from last season’s competition entries we will feature in the upcoming Morecambe battle.

9 October 2017 - Speaker 1 - Bob Dennis - ‘What judges Look For’
Bob is a highly respected judge and a member of the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union’s Executive Committee. Although Bob’s presentation is primarily aimed at achieving better results in photographic competitions, his advice will be equally applicable to those simply wishing to improve their photographic skills.

30 October 2017 Speaker 2 - Justin Garner - ‘The Lighting behind the Image’
Justin is a Manchester-based freelance photographer who, interestingly, uses photography to connect with hard to reach groups and enable them to express themselves, gain transferable skills and develop self-esteem and confidence. Tonight he will provide a behind the scenes look at his lighting set ups for portraits and product photography, with a hands on look at the lights and modifiers he uses. http://www.jags-photography.co.uk

27 November 2017 - Club Night
Members will look at and discuss the strengths and weakness of images captured on the October 23rd shoot, and select the best 4 images. Bring along digital images of the Priory and Cathedral shoots.
4 December 2017 - Club night
Colin Yates and Ruth Lochrie will introduce members to the methods and techniques used in capturing light trails and ghosts in indoor and outdoor locations. Bring your camera, and tripod if you have one.
11 December 2017 - Competition Evening 3 - Flora and Fauna

8 January 2018 - Speaker 5 - Melvin Nicholson - Landscape Locations
Melvin is a Preston based, professional, landscape photographer who runs photography workshops in the UK and Iceland as well as personalised 1-2-1 tuition days. His work has been published in national and international magazines and is on permanent exhibition throughout the UK. 15 January 2018 - Club Night
Members will be introduced to the society’s studio flash equipment, to the different configurations of lighting and shooting techniques, and will have an opportunity to capture their own images. Bring your camera.
22 January 2018 - Speaker 6 - George Steele - ‘Taking the Tears out of Macro Photography’George is an experienced photographer and highly respected instructor and presenter on a diverse range of photographic topics. 5 March 2018 - Speaker 8 - Neil Hulme - ‘Moments in Mono’
Neil took up photography in 2010 when he realized that his teenage sons didn’t need his full attention, his wife worked shifts and he was left with time on his hands. Today Neil is one of the most respected photographers and photographic tutors in the UK. Neil takes mono, long exposure photographs. His photography and post-processing are instantly recognisable and ooze quality.

Lee is a self-taught, Lancaster based professional landscape photographer with an impressive and expanding list of clients and commissions. He is a perfectionist with a passion for landscape photography captured with a Fuji GX617 panoramic film camera. Lee will introduce us to his camera, his working practices and his rich portfolio of work.

Carmen is an award-winning, fine art photographer based in the Lake District who provides landscape photography courses, workshops, and lifestyle shoots. Her work has a strong signature and conveys her love for, and intimate relationship with, the Lake District landscapes.
