23 September 2019: Club night - Desktop Photography and Learning Stations
Members will have an opportunity to dip into and out of a series of ‘Learning’ and ‘Shooting’ stations including printed image mounting, framing and sizing; the SLR camera, its settings and its use with lenses; printing; the competition process and image submission. There will also be opportunities to capture the unexpected and interesting in a series of 7 desktop/still life installations featuring, bubbles, bolts, swords, metal insects, vintage cameras, and light boxes with figures, fruit, leaves and shells.Bring your camera, tripod and flash.
30 September 2019: speaker 1 - Scott Wigglesworth - "Blackfell Photography"
Scott has worked across a wide range of photographic disciplines nationally and internationally and acquired a wealth of experience and technical knowledge. He casts a wide net and takes wedding, product, music, architectural and portrait commissions. Scott will share with members his journey in photography, illustrating the way his work has evolved through direct involvement with clients and collaborations with marketing and advertising agencies.
07 October 2019: club night - image selection for Morecambe battle
Members will assess and select the images from last season’s competition entries that will feature in the upcoming Morecambe battle. There will also be a demonstration of ‘double frame’ shooting

14 October 2019: speaker 2 - Nigel Ball - "Nightscape"
Nigel has always had a healthy or some say unhealthy interest in Astronomy and in recent times with the help of more disposable income he has returned to the hobby and in particular Astrophotography and Night scape photography. Nigel was elected to Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society in 2013 for his services to Astrophotography and Public Outreach work with his local Astronomy Society. Nigel’s images have been used by the BBC Sky at Night and is regularly published in photography magazines. He has recently been working with Nikon developing a new camera for night photography. nigelaball.com

Maria is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, holds a BA Hons. in Dance Theatre and an MA in Photographic studies. A photographic practitioner, teacher and writer, Maria lectures at De Montfort University and also runs photography workshops in Britain and abroad. Jeremy became interested in wildlife as a teenager whilst watching David Attenborough’s wildlife programmes and fell in love with photography following a holiday to The Gambia in the early 90s photographing weaver birds, mudskippers & mammals. 06 January 2020: speaker 06 - Mark Gilligan - "Lake District Landscapes"
Mark Gilligan is one of the country’s foremost Landscape Photographers and an official Fujifilm Ambassador. He is an accredited, award-winning member of the British Institute of Professional Photography and won Fellowship for his specialist and original work in the Lake District. A features writer for many magazines, he has his own photographic series in 'Lake District Life' and 'Lancashire Life'. 13 January 2020: club night – Group Challenge Judging and Member Presentations
The groups will present their panel of images captured on the November 4 shoot to members who will together select the best panel and award the winners with task of defining the 2021 challenge. The evening will also feature short presentations by members, Alan Philips and Ken McGrath .

27 January 2020: club night - Image Selection for evening with Morecambe Movei MakersStephen is an associate of the Royal Photographic Society, and is closely associated with the Snowdonia National Park. His knowledge and understanding of the area have allowed him to produce images unrivalled in their portrayal of the ephemeral light and wild atmosphere in that special part of the world. He’s work is an intimate and loving crafted celebration of wild landscape.

03 February 2020: Presidents evening - Mike Arkinson - "Macro Photography"
Mike, is the Society’s current president and most accomplished photographer. His knowledge and love of natural history, landscapes, stone circles and photography is reflected in his wide ranging portfolio of technically precise and striking images. Mike’s presentation will focus on macro photography.
10 February 2020: speaker 08 Brett Aspinal - New Directions in Photography
We welcome back Brett and his students from Myerscough College for a revealing insight into the directions in which photography is taking on the National Diploma, Foundation Degree and BA (Hons) courses, preparing students for careers in media, photography and its related industries.

Members will have an opportunity to reflect upon the presentation by Mike Atkinson, and engage with each other in close–up and macro photography, in a fun evening that will feature an interesting assortment of illuminated, miniature, desk top subjects. Bring your camera, tripod and flash.

16 March 2020: speaker 09 - Stephen Dodd - "Product and Food Photography"
Steve started his photography career in 1979 as a studio assistant with Liverpool’s “Elsam, Mann & Cooper”. He studied Photography at the Blackpool & The Fylde College in the mid 1980s and specialised thereafter in commercial advertising work. He has worked on corporate assignments in America, Canada, Russia, Africa, most of Europe & throughout the UK. Steve will showcase his work, demonstrate some of the basic studio lighting/camera techniques applied to product photography and provide hints and tips for food photography.
